Robe MegaPointe Lighting Fixture Rental

The Robe MegaPointe is an industry-defining hybrid beam/spot/wash luminaire and a benchmark fixture in professional lighting rental inventories worldwide. Designed by the ROBE R&D Team in collaboration with Osram,  MegaPointe delivers extreme output, precision optics, and a dense effects package in a compact moving-head format trusted on major tours, festivals, broadcast productions, and large-scale live events.

At its core is an Osram Sirius HRI 470 W short-arc discharge lamp paired with Robe’s proprietary optical system. This combination produces a razor-sharp, high-contrast beam capable of reaching 2,200,000 lux at 5 meters in beam mode. MegaPointe offers dual operating ranges with 1.8°–21° beam mode and 3°–42° spot mode, allowing it to transition seamlessly from tight aerial beams to wide, texture-rich projections within demanding lighting rental applications.

Color and image performance are driven by a smooth CMY color-mixing system, a dedicated color wheel with dichroic filters, and both static and rotating glass gobo wheels. Precision gobos deliver sharp in-air effects and crisp projections with a flat field, while an aluminium animation wheel adds layered motion and depth. The system is further expanded by an innovative effects engine featuring six prisms on two wheels, producing a total of 12 beam and flower effects unique to the MegaPointe platform.

Beam shaping is enhanced through Robe’s patented FREM™ framing shutter emulation, enabling rectangular beam shaping without a traditional shutter module. Variable frost filters, motorized zoom and focus, remote hot-spot control, and smooth electronic dimming complete a toolset built for creative flexibility in concert, festival, and broadcast lighting rentals.

MegaPointe offers fast, accurate movement with 540° pan and 265° tilt, supported by Robe’s EMS™ Electronic Motion Stabilization system to maintain beam accuracy on moving truss structures. Control options include DMX, RDM, Art-Net, MA Net, MA Net2, and sACN, with optional LumenRadio CRMX for wireless integration into modern lighting rental systems.
