Audio and Audio Visual Equipment Rental in Los Angeles
GeoEvent supplies sound systems, microphones, consoles, backline and the engineers to run them, for conferences, concerts, weddings, festivals, corporate general sessions and private parties across Los Angeles. We hold L-Acoustics and JBL VTX line arrays, point-source and monitor systems, digital consoles from Allen & Heath, Yamaha and DiGiCo, wireless RF, and a full backline inventory.
We also handle the wider audio visual side of an event — screens, projection, lighting and staging — so if you need sound plus vision from one supplier rather than three, that is a single quote rather than a co-ordination problem. Most enquiries that begin as “audio visual equipment rental” are really asking for that.
Sound systems by event size
Speaker choice follows headcount, room and programme material far more than it follows budget. Roughly how we scale it:
- Up to 100 guests — a pair of powered speakers on stands with a small mixer. Enough for speeches, a ceremony and background music.
- 100 to 300 — larger point-source tops with a subwoofer, a digital console, and monitors if anyone is performing.
- 300 to 1,000 — a compact line array per side with subs, front fill and dedicated monitor world. This is where an engineer stops being optional.
- 1,000 and above — full line array, flown or ground-stacked, with system processing, distributed delays for deep rooms, and a system tech alongside the front-of-house engineer.
Rooms matter as much as numbers. A hard-surfaced ballroom of 200 can need more careful coverage than a carpeted room of 500, and an outdoor site with no walls needs more power for the same audience because nothing reflects back.
What we rent
Speakers and PA systems
Line arrays, point-source tops, subwoofers, stage monitors, in-ear systems, front fill and delay stacks, with amplification, processing and system tuning.
Mixing consoles
Digital consoles from compact rack mixers up to large-format desks, with stage boxes, digital snakes and the option of pre-loaded show files if you send them ahead.
Microphones and wireless
Handheld and lavalier wireless, headset mics, podium and gooseneck mics, instrument and drum microphones, DI boxes and comms. For anything with several wireless channels we co-ordinate frequencies in advance, which matters more in Los Angeles than most places because the RF environment is crowded.
Backline
Drum kits, bass and guitar amplification, keyboards, stands and stools. Send us the artist’s rider and we will quote against it directly.
Audio visual packages
Sound combined with LED walls, projection, lighting and staging as a single itemised quote.
Sound for weddings
Weddings are usually three separate audio problems wearing one budget. The ceremony needs speech to carry cleanly, often outdoors with no power nearby, and usually wants the equipment to be as close to invisible as possible. Speeches need a reliable handheld or lavalier and someone watching the levels. The reception needs music that holds up for hours without becoming punishing at the tables closest to the speakers.
They rarely want the same system, and the most common wedding audio failure is a single setup asked to do all three. Tell us the shape of the day and we will quote it as the three things it actually is.
Do you need an engineer?
For background music and a couple of speeches, a well-specified system and a competent contact on site will do. For anything with a band, several wireless channels, a stage, or an audience that has paid to be there, book the engineer.
The reason is not the equipment; it is that live audio is the one part of an event where problems are instantly audible to everybody in the room and have to be solved in seconds. Audio engineers, monitor engineers, RF technicians and general crew can be added to any booking. If you would rather hand over the whole event, our full production service covers design, build, operation and strike as one package.
Outdoor and non-standard sites
Outdoor audio needs more power for the same audience, weather protection for consoles and amp racks regardless of forecast, and a plan for power. Many Los Angeles parks and public sites also carry amplified-sound permits and decibel limits, which are handled by the venue or the city rather than by us — but they can change what equipment makes sense, so sort them early.
Where we deliver
Los Angeles, Orange County and Ventura as standard, with regular work in San Diego, Las Vegas and San Francisco. Delivery is quoted per booking against site access and load size, and itemised separately from the equipment.
Audio equipment rental questions
Can I rent sound equipment without an engineer?
Yes, for straightforward systems. We will make sure it arrives configured and that you know how to run it. For larger or live-performance setups we will recommend crew.
Do you rent for a single day or longer?
Both. Multi-day and weekly rates are available, and for anything needing an overnight build we will quote the build day separately so the pricing is transparent.
Can you work to an artist’s technical rider?
Yes, and it is the fastest way to get an accurate quote. Send the rider rather than describing it.
What if the venue already has a house system?
Tell us what it is. Sometimes the right answer is to supplement it rather than replace it, which usually costs less.
How far in advance should I book?
Large line array systems and specific consoles move quickly in peak season. Small and mid-size packages are considerably more flexible.
Get a sound system quote
Tell us the venue, the date, the guest count and what has to happen — speeches, a band, a DJ, a presentation, or all of it. We will come back with an itemised quote covering equipment, delivery, build and crew. If you have a rider or a floor plan, send that instead; it is faster and more accurate than a conversation. Contact the team to get started.
